The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company L.L.C. has appointed Shane Krige as General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore which is set to open in Summer 2013. He is responsible for all the pre-opening stages of the development and for the daily hotel operations of food and beverage, rooms and sales and marketing divisions once the hotel is launched.
With over 15 years of experience Krige joins The Ritz-Carlton from his role as the General Manager of The Plaza New York where he led the three-year US$450 million renovation. Prior to this he distinguished himself in leadership roles in London and Dallas. He re-joins The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company after previously holding a senior management position at The Ritz-Carlton in Washington D.C. Mr. Krige began his career with Marriott Hotels & Resorts and has also held senior management positions with Hyatt Hotels.

A native of South Africa, Krige holds a bachelor of science in Hotel Management with minor in business from Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Krige is married and has two children; he is passionate about Motocross and surfing. He has recently been appointed a parent member on the Advisory Council of the Canadian International School.
His personal motto is - Do the right thing because it 's the right thing to do.
The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore is a 277-room, five-star luxury property, which will offer exquisite restaurants, extensive meeting and flexible events space, a luxurious spa, an outdoor swimming pool, and an entire floor dedicated to high- end retail boutiques.
