The Jharkhand Travel Mart organized its first travel mart at The Mega Sports Complex Hotwar, Khelgaon, Ranchi, Jharkhand from 23-25 March 2018. The event witnessed over 3000 business appointments from the traveltrade delegation of 125 buyers from across India and was inaugurated by Honourable Minister Amar Kumar Bauri for Revenue & Land Reforms, Art, Culture, Tourism, Sports & Youth Affairs Govt. of Jharkhand on the 23rd March 2018.

The Travel Mart was supported by various associations like ‘Association of Domestic Tour Operators Association of India (ADTOI), Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI), Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) and Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism & Hospitality (FAITH), Enterprising Agents Association of India (ETAA), Hotel Association of Jharkhand, Travel Agents Association of Jharkhand, Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries.

Jharkhand Tourism minister Amar Kumar Bauri said, “Jharkhand is unexplored by many tourists and we also have a number of waterfalls to be explored. Hope to promote tourism without creating hassle to the tribals life.”

 

The event included Business Sessions with speakers such as Debjit Dutta, Chairman, West Bengal, IATO, Rajat Sawhney, Vice President, ADTOI, Nishikant Kumar, Professor, Dept. of Hotel Management, BIT Mesra and Rakesh Lamba, Former President, ADTOI. While the second session was focused on the market of Tribal and Cultural Tourism in Jharkhand with speakers like Justin Imam, Virasat Trust, Amitava Ghosh, Founder, Kalamandir, Abhinav Kumar Shandilya, HOD, Dept. of Hotel Management, BIT Birsa and Sanjeev Kumar Besra, IAS, Director - Tourism, Govt. of Jharkhand.

"Jharkhand is a potential state running in its 18th year of becoming a new state."said Sudhir Tripathy, Chief Secretary, Government of Jharkhand.
