The Vasundhara Sarovar Premiere in Kerala received an accolade for classic architecture based on the temples of Kerala. The Indian Institute of Architects conferred the National Award 2013 for the Best Interiors to this resort. This premium backwater resort located in a sleepy hamlet called Vayalar enRouté from Cochin to Kumarakom was also selected by Indian Institute of Architects, Kerala Chapter, for the Gold Leaf Award for Excellence in Architecture earlier this year.

The architects of the resort, Ramesh Tharakan, Punnen Mathew and Monolita Chatterjee received the award.

Anil Madhok, Managing Director, Sarovar Hotels said, “We would like to thank Indian Institute of Architects for conferring the award to Vasundhara Sarovar Premiere and recognizing the efforts put in by the team to create a resort reflecting the traditional temple architecture of Kerala”.

Since its inception in 2012, this is the fourth award Vasundhara Sarovar Premiere has received in addition to the two architecture awards. It was recognised as the ‘Best Upcoming Spa Resort in Kerala’ by World Travel Brands and was ranked as the 9th best hotel in India by Trip Advisor Traveller’s Choice Award in 2013.
